As Principal of Jane Stenson, Dr. Huemmer leads with a vision focused on student centered learning, instructional excellence, and family engagement. Believing that every child deserves access to high-quality learning in a safe and inclusive environment, she fosters a school culture where academic achievement, social-emotional development, and community engagement go hand in hand. Dr. Huemmer is committed to collaborative leadership, where the voices of students, staff, and families are valued in driving continuous improvement.

With over 20 years in education, Dr. Huemmer brings a depth of experience as a classroom teacher, school administrator, and school leadership coach. Throughout her career, she has led initiatives that have strengthened instructional practices, improved student outcomes, and built strong professional learning communities. Under her leadership, Jane Stenson has seen gains in student growth and family engagement—reflecting a shared commitment to success for all learners.

Dr. Huemmer holds a Doctorate in Urban Education Leadership from University of Illinois in Chicago and remains deeply connected to the community through partnerships with the Jane Stenson PTA, Niles Township ELL Parent Center, Skokie Police Department and Skokie Public Library. She believes schools are not just places of learning, but hubs of hope and opportunity. This belief fuels her ongoing dedication to building a school where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to reach their highest potential.

Outside of work, Dr. Huemmer enjoys spending quality time with her children and exploring new places through travel.
